Tutors Needed We are always looking for tutors. Volunteer tutors come to the Center every week to partner with women who wish to learn to read, write, and speak English. All tutors receive 16 hours of training and on-going support from the Dominican Literacy Center staff. Tutors meet with students weekly for one and half hours, using ESL books, writing exercises, conversation practice, grammar exercises and computer materials. Tutors select a weekly tutoring time which fits their schedules. Dominican Literacy Center tutoring sessions are held 5 mornings, 4 afternoons, and 3 evenings each week during the school year.
