Mutual Ground, Inc.

Mutual Ground Inc. was founded in 1975, with the goal of providing programs that focus on Safety, Healing and Prevention for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault and their families. Mutual Ground is now one of the largest and oldest domestic violence/sexual assault agencies in the state of Illinois. All services are victim-centered and focus on advocacy that empowers each individual to make her/his own decisions.  All services are free of charge to victims and their family.

Our services include:
24 Hour Hotline
Our 24 hour hotlines are always available to provide information and support to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, and their significant others.  All calls are confidential.
Advocacy and Counseling
Professional advocates and counselors are available for adult and youth survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, and their families.  Our staff has extensive training in domestic violence or sexual assault trauma.  These age appropriate services are free of charge.
Hospital Advocacy
Trained hospital advocates are available 24/7, 365 days per year to provide crisis intervention services to victims in the emergency rooms.  All advocates provide information as well as emotional support, allowing the victims to make informed choices.
Shelter and Transitional Housing
Transitional Housing Professionals provide assistance and support in long-term housingecisions and secure the essentials for daily life.
Court Advocacy
Our trained court advocates assist survivors with Orders of Protection and other necessary services within the criminal justice system.
Prevention
Our Prevention Educators provide in-school trainings to grades K through 12, as well as workshops to local businesses and community organizations.  All presentations are age-appropriate and specific to the needs of the group.
