Since 2013, Fox Valley Food for Health has been serving families in our community who are experiencing a health crisis. Each week more than 100 high school and adult volunteers work together at our kitchen in the Kane County Fairgrounds to cook organic, nutrient rich meals that will be delivered to our clients each week. In the 2018 program year we served more than 13,000 meals to over 250 families in our community.
For one person, our meals cost approximately $75 per week. We supply these meals free of charge for 12 weeks for not only the person who is sick, but also their entire family.
Blue Goose Market in Saint Charles has been a wonderful supporter of Food for Health. Each November we partner to educate their shoppers about our mission and ask for financial help through the donation of a gift card for the future purchase of our groceries.
