The mission of Suicide Prevention Services is to open minds, save lives and restore hope through prevention, intervention, and postvention; using education, advocacy and collaboration. Our work includes, but is not limited to, awareness events, depression screening, affordable individual and group counseling, the national 800-273-TALK Lifeline, and work in schools. We are located in Batavia, Illinois, and our service area is the Fox River Valley, broadly defined.
We are looking for individuals who are passionate about suicide prevention and/or mental health to become members of our Board of Directors. The Board’s major focuses are fundraising activities, administrative oversight, and representing the organization to external stakeholders. We seek members with a wide range of backgrounds. The Board meets at 7:30 am on the third Friday of each month, and Board members also work separately throughout the month.
