Do you love speaking with people and are good with computers? Then the volunteer check in opportunity is just for you! We are looking for friendly faces to join us at least once a week to check in all our clients when they come in to shop in the Market Place.
Purpose: The Check In volunteers checks in all clients of the Aurora Area Interfaith Food Pantry, creating a welcoming environment for them since you will be the first initial contact that they’ll have.
Location: The Check In volunteer works at the front counter in the front lobby /waiting room at 1110 Jericho Road Aurora, IL 60506
Time Commitment: One day per week (M, T, or TH) for four and half hours (9:30 AM – 2:00 PM).
Key Responsibilities:
-Check in all clients coming into the pantry to receive food
-Ensure signature sheets match information in client database
-Provide additional information about other resource services in the community when needed
Qualifications:
-Knowledge of computer use and data entry.
-Pleasant manner, patience, problem-solving ability, dependability.
Support: Training for this position will be provided. Also, Volunteer & Distribution Assistant & Director of Operations will be available for questions and assistance.
