Christine's Dream Equestrian Center, a branch of the Giant Steps autism organization, is looking for volunteers to be Side-Walkers and Horse Leaders during weekly therapeutic riding lessons located at Rich Harvest Farms 43W450 Prairie St, Sugar Grove, IL 60554. We are a PATH Intl. (Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International) Premier Accredited Center serving young adults on the Autism Spectrum. Equine Program Volunteers receive a one hour training to provide assistance to the horses, PATH Instructor and riders during therapeutic riding instruction.
**In addition to our year round lessons (Mon/Wed/Fri 10:00am-12:30) , we have additional summer lessons on Thursdays from 2:00pm-4:30pm. The dates for summer lessons on Thursdays are 6/20, 6/27, 7/11, 7/18, and 7/25**
Requirements:
- Must be 16 years or older
- Previous experience working with horses is NOT required
- Available to attend a 1 hour Orientation/Training prior to start of the volunteer service
