Position Title: AmeriCorps Outreach Program Facilitator Reports To: AmeriCorps Program Manager
Location: Rockford, South Elgin, Oswego, Lake Zurich Status: Part-time
This Outreach department program facilitator will gain great experience in the fields of working with children, event planning, office skills enhancement.
This position is responsible for bringing Girl Scout programming to under-served girls who may be struggling academically and socially through the Project Opportunity outreach program in Aurora, DeKalb, Carpentersville, Elgin, Boone County, McHenry County, and Winnebago County. There is a living allowance and Education Award associated with the status of your membership. AmeriCorps Members will facilitate programming based on the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE) programming in weekly, up to 1 hour-long sessions (in person or virtually). This programming will help girls develop a strong sense of self and improve academic attitudes through activities including life skills, S.T.E.M., career exploration, and healthy relationships. As a member, you will also help plan, prepare, and facilitate programming, identify additional populations of under-served girls, identify partners, and connect with them for collaborations, and recruit new volunteers from local communities to help.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Facilitate programming based on the GSLE in weekly, up to hour-long sessions at multiple sites (in person or virtually)
- During the school year, work with groups of girls on a weekly or bi-weekly basis, meeting for up to 34 weeks
- During the summer, work with groups of girls on a weekly basis for 4 – 11 weeks
- Organize and coordinate informational presentations for girls and adults through the identified sites to recruit girls and adult volunteers
- Ensure required paperwork is completed by girls, families, and/or site staff to include registration forms, outcomes surveys, facilitator rubrics, and reporting documents
- Possible weekends and evenings as required for programming, community collaborations and service
- Help identify populations of underserved girls and partners for collaborations
- Network in the community to retain and build new relationships and collaborations to increase visibility
- Represent GSNI and AmeriCorps in community events and fairs
- Meet AmeriCorps program requirements including completing and documenting hours of service, attending trainings, and participating in additional service opportunities
- Establish and maintain communication with families to create a seamless transition as program needs changes
- Responsive community service as needed due to unforeseen circumstances.
