Animal-Handling Volunteers

Description

  • Are expected to to volunteer at least one 4-hour shift each week, approximately April – September, with morning hours available October – March
    • Some animal handling volunteers take a break during the winter when animal volume slows down; we can work with your schedule and availability
  • Feed and provide clean enclosures for a variety of birds and mammals from orphans to adults
  • Perform routine daily tasks that include laundry, dishes, making food, and cleaning up animal urine/feces
  • Have a sincere appreciation of and respect for all animals including wildlife
  • Are capable of the mental and physical demands of animal care mentioned above
  • If under 16, must have parent supervision and support while performing all tasks during their shift
