Volunteers will inspect, sort, and package food that will be distributed to our hungry neighbors. Northern Illinois Food Bank serves over 71,500 people each week across 13 counties through innovative feeding programs and partnerships.
Projects can vary, but differing ability levels can be accommodated by contacting a Volunteer Coordinator.
Our Northwest (Rockford) Center offers both food sorting opportunities and direct service opportunities at our Senior Grocery Markets & Winnebago Community Markets.
Volunteers for food sorting & packing must be at least 8 years old.
Volunteers for the direct service opportunities must be at least 14 years old and should be able to lift ~20 lbs.
