We are high school students who have a commitment to their communities. We recognize the challenges of learning at different levels and speed, and work to helps children overcome any difficulties they face. We provide feedback to parents to help them work with their child in between tutoring sessions. Our tutors have a GPA over 3.50, and we have received letters of recommendations from either counselors or teachers regarding their ability to meet the needs of our tutoring mission.
The Merry Tutor is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides free tutoring to elementary, middle school, and high school students and offers high school students the opportunity to volunteer as tutors. The Merry Tutor provides high school students with the opportunity to earn community service hours by volunteering as tutors. We also serve as a model for student run tutoring organizations.
It is our mission to provide students with an approachable learning environment and to offer tutors a way to develop valuable communication and leadership skills while contributing to their community. Our concept is simple - students helping students - yet it is so unique. The tutees, the tutors, and the community all benefit from what we have to offer.
