Who We Are

Kane Senior Council (KSC) initiates, delivers, monitors and coordinates services that promote the ability of older people to live their lives in dignity.

What We Do

Since 1975, the DuPage Senior Citizens Council (DSCC) has been advocating for and providing services that help seniors thrive in the secure comfort of home. DSCC began operating our Home Delivered Meals (Meals on Wheels) and Community Dining services in 1983. DSCC developed and implemented a Minor Home Repair service and initiated Yard Clean Ups (formerly known as Chore Days) in 1987 to assist seniors with the maintenance and upkeep of their homes. DSCC implemented an Emergency Follow-Up Procedure in 2004, and in 2011, DSCC formalized our Well Being Checks service, which has been credited with saving the lives of several seniors. In 2015, DSCC began a new Friendly Visits and Assistance service which provides socialization opportunities and assistance with basic home tasks associated with daily living. In 2018, we expanded to serve Kane County under the name of Kane Senior Council (KSC). We now have services including Home Delivered Meals (Meals on Wheels), Community Dining, Well- Being Checks, Health and Wellness Education, Pet Care and Food Assistance, and Intergenerational Activities available in Kane County.
